This is a wooden replica of the traditional samurai sword. It describes the proportions of full sized katana. The word "boken" (or bokuto) means in Japanese "wooden sword". Still the presented sword combines also characteristics of daito sword, which is a more elegant but still dangerous weapon.

This fine construction resembles a true samurai katana, with classical red hand guard and a black lacquered saya and tsuka.
