Wakizashi type of sword was one that always paired Katana; it was introduced during the Muromachi period (1568-1603). The Samurai class was the only one allowed to wear the two swords, forming together a daisho. This custom existed for several centuries until the shogun institute was abolished in the 19th century.

The Wakizashi Ninja Sword is characterized as a shorter sword than katana is; being straighter than the curved Katana it respects the proportions of a Japanese sword. It has a classical black scabbard and handle, adorned with golden metal carved pommel, handguard and caps at the ends of the scabbard. The stainless steel single-edged blade is even sharper that a katana’s blade, being designed for softer targets.
