The Kill Bill Hattori Hanzo Samurai Katana Sword Set contains three traditional Japanese swords: katana, wakizashi and tanto. The first two formed daisho – two swords set always used together by samurais.
Tanto was a smaller reflection of the katana and was easy to hide. The daisho pair was used on the battlefield for distance combat, whereas tanto served for close combats. Also, tanto are differently forged than katana, it has no ridge-line. Tanto's blade is very thin and therefore it was designed for soft targets.
The presented set is a fine replica of the one used in both parts of Kill Bill movie.
Pay attention to the design of each of the three items. It is characterized by thick black lacquered saya (scabbard), ornate with gold three leaf and dragon symbols. The hand guards, sayas' end caps and collars are silver metal forged pieces resembling traditional motifs.
The sayas perfectly secure full tang stainless steel blades. The blades possess hamon lines and are single edged. Each of the blades' tangs bears a Hattori Hanzo evil etching. The blades continue with rounded tsubas (guards) which separate kens (blades) from tsukas (hilts). The last is wrapped with black cords for better grip.
A black hardwood display stand is added. It features 16" x 19".
